  • 1/2 teaspoon channa dal
  • 1/2 teaspoon hing (asafoetida)
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 green chili, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro leaves

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the vermicelli in water and drain well.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat.
  3. Add the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad dal, and channa dal.
  4. Fry for a few seconds, or until the seeds start to pop.
  5. Add the hing and onion.
  6. Fry for 2-3 minutes, or until the onion is softened.
  7. Add the green chili, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt.
  8. Fry for a minute, or until the spices are fragrant.
