Tasty Aloo Paratha : Quick And Easy recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup water, plus more as needed
  • 2 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
  • Oil or ghee, for cooking

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the water and knead until the dough comes together into a smooth ball. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, make the filling. In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, ginger-garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Stir until well combined. Stir in the cilantro.
  3. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece of dough into a thin circle. Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each circle. Fold the dough over the filling and seal the edges.
  4. Heat a tawa or griddle over medium heat. Brush the paratha with oil or ghee. Cook the paratha for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Repeat with the remaining parathas.
  5. Serve hot with your favorite curry or chutney.

Tips:

  • For a smoother dough, knead it for an additional 5-10 minutes.
  • If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour. If the dough is too dry, add a little more water.
  • To prevent the parathas from sticking to the tawa, brush them with oil or ghee before cooking.
  • If the parathas are browning too quickly, reduce the heat.
  • Serve the parathas hot with your favorite curry or chutney.
