Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1 green chili, chopped (optional)
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup peas
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro leaves

Instructions:

  1. Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and cook until they start to brown.
  2. Add the onion and cook until softened.
  3. Add the green chili (if using) and ginger-garlic and cook for a minute more.
  4. Add the tomatoes and cook until they are soft and mushy.
  5. Add the turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala, red chili powder, and salt. Cook for a minute, stirring constantly.
  6. Add the peas and mushrooms and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender.
  7. Stir in the cilantro leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
