Indori Poha : Recipe Quick and Easy style

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup poha (beaten rice flakes)
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped potatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 pinch hing (asafoetida)
  • 1 green chili, chopped (optional)
  • 1 sprig curry leaves

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the poha in a colander until the water runs clear.
  2. Drain the poha and set aside.
  3. Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat.
  4. Add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  5. Add the hing, green chili, and curry leaves and saute for a minute.
  6. Add the onions and saute until they are soft and translucent.
  7. Add the potatoes and cook until they are soft.
  8. Add the turmeric powder, salt, and red chili powder and mix well.
  9. Add the poha and mix well.
  10. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the poha is heated through.
  11. Add the lemon juice and coriander leaves and mix well.
  12. Serve hot.

Tips:

  • You can add other vegetables to the poha, such as peas, carrots, or corn.
  • You can also add peanuts or cashews to the poha for extra flavor.
  • If you want a spicier poha, you can add more red chili powder.
  • Poha can be eaten for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
