Ingredients:

  • 1 beetroot, peeled and grated
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper powder
  • ¼ teaspoon chaat masala
  • 1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
  • ½ tablespoon oil
  • ½ tablespoon mustard seeds
  • ¼ teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 pinch hing
  • 10 curry leaves
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. Heat the oil in a small pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and hing.
  3. Fry for a few seconds, until the seeds start to pop.
  4. Add the curry leaves and cook for a minute, until they are fragrant.
  5. Remove the tadka from the heat and set aside.
  6. In a bowl, combine the grated beetroot, yogurt, black pepper powder, chaat masala, coriander leaves, and salt to taste.
  7. Add the tadka to the salad and mix well.
  8. Serve chilled.

Tips:

  • You can use hung curd to make the salad thicker.
  • If you don’t like the taste of hing, you can omit it from the tadka.
  • You can also add other vegetables to the salad, such as carrots, cucumbers, or tomatoes.
